Quartz

Quartz is added to mould mix (with plaster) to improve the mould's heat resistance.  It reduces the amount of cracking caused when firing glass casting moulds.

We recommend a mix of 1 part water, 1 part plaster and 1 part quartz.

Always wear an FFP3 mask when handling and mixing quartz powder, use a HEPA filter vacuum for cleanup.
